ISOP and ISEP will meet jointly in Oslo, Norway, combining forces and research interests from both organizations.
Protist2012 will cover a broad range of different research topics within protistology, from taxonomy and phylogenomics, to evolutionary biology and cell biology. It will cover research both on autotrophic algae, heterotrophs and parasites.

ISEP is an a division of ISOP, and focuses on functional genomic, evolution and development of protists, and addresses the origin and evolution of the eukaryotic cell and the history of the eukaryote life.
