PhD members have the opportunity to apply for travel and research grants. The grants can cover costs for activities not arranged by DEEP that are relevant for your PhD.
Call for mini-grants
Research grants
We can give out research grants of up to 30 000 NOK for
- field and laboratory work or related activities. It is only possible to get funding for analyses and laboratory work if you attend the work yourself for educational purposes. You will need to submit proof of your travel to attend this work.
- The DEEP research grant cannot be used to fund the purchase of goods or services necessary for your PhD project. This includes the purchase of analyses performed by others.
- Shorter research stays of up to one month. For longer research stays, we can provide funding for up to one month if the application has additional funding sources, covering the rest of the stay.
Travel grants
We can give out travel grants of up to 30 000 NOK for
- participation at specialized courses or workshops.
Application deadlines:
- 15 January
- 15 June
- 15 October
The award of a DEEP mini-grant is not an individual decision according to the Norwegian Public Administration Act. It is therefore not possible to appeal a rejected application or a rejected expense refund claim.
