Structure and tectonic history - Barents Sea

CEED scientists are heading this week to Barents Sea (south of Svalbard)  where they will take part in a scientific cruise that aims to decipher the structure and tectonic history of a remote Arctic region.

The research project on structure and tectonic history of a remote Arctic region is funded by the Norwegian Research Council and is a collaboration between Universities of Bergen and Oslo (‘Barents Sea Paleozoic basement and basin configurations (BarPz)’ , project leader Prof. R. Huismans).

CEED participants are: (VISTA) Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Alexander Minakov who will be the cruise leader, and Dr. Nina Lebedeva-Ivanova who will assist in seismic data acquisition.
