Evaluations

  • An external, international commitee awarded CEES the highest classification of Exceptionally good in its midterm evaluation (pdf) in 2011.
  • CEES received the highest score of Excellent in the external evaluation of research in Norway in 2011 (pdf). Out of the 67 scientific groups reviewed by the international panel for botany, zoology and ecology-related disciplines, only two received this score.

Comments by the Scientific Advisory Board

In the annual reports (see links above) you will find the Comments by the CEES Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). The final paragraph of the comment in the 2016 report (pages 12-14) reads:

"In summary, the SAB strongly believes that the University of Oslo should embrace CEES as an outstanding success and seek further development of what has already been achieved. The publication rate is high and the young staff scientists are increasingly publishing their results in top journals. An infrastructure has been created and it should not be lost. The University of Oslo stands to gain immeasurably in retaining the success of CEES in recruiting outstanding faculty, and has an opportunity to capitalise on the teaching and research, incorporating it into its life science initiative."
