Academic Interests

I am an evolutionary genomicist with a background in evolutionary ecology and island biogeography. I am broadly interested in speciation, and how novel variation is created and maintained. In my current research I address how hybridization can contribute to novel genetic variation through investigating variation and constraints in hybrid genome formation of independent island populations of the homoploid hybrid Italian sparrow Passer italiae.

I am a Wenner-Gren post doctoral fellow.
