The Annual CEES Student Conference

Dear all CEES members!


We are pleased to invite you to the Annual CEES Conference and Banquet 21-22 October 2014.

* The event is compulsory for all CEES members (including students).
* Presentations are mandatory for ALL Master and PhD students. Some PostDocs will at a later stage be asked to have a talk.
 


Update: Speaking time:

Group leaders: 5 minutes
Postdocs: 15 minutes
PhDs: 15 minutes if you started on your PhD more than 6 months ago/10 minutes if you started less than 6 months ago
Master's students: 10 minutes if you have results to present/5 minutes if you just started on your Master's (check with the final program)



Conference information

Master and PhD students will, as part of their training, present their research to date. Some PostDocs will be asked to do so too!
There will be a short presentation of the different research groups at CEES (Preferably by the group leader).
Please keep in mind that supervisors should assist their students/PhD fellows in preparing their presentations. (If the students have not completed their projects at the time of the conference, they should present their work to date, or plans for future work).

Deadlines

* Deadline for registration: 15 September 2014.

* Deadline for abstract submission: 26 September 2014.

* Deadline for submission of presentation (PowerPoint): 13 October 2014.


Transportation

Free bus to/from Holmen Fjordhotell. Departing Blindern from behind Kristine Bonnevie's House, (Prestgårdsveien) 08:00 in the morning 21 October and return from the hotel late afternoon on 22 October (departure 16:00).

 

Booklet

We will produce a booklet of abstracts, that will be handed out at the conference.

 

CEES Banquet
Being gathered at this very nice place by the fjord, we will take the opportunity to enjoy a banquet.
All costs will be covered by CEES (excluding additional bar and room service) and, of course, all CEES staff and students are welcome to this event.
Dress code: formal/nice.
