Research infrastructure
The MN Faculty is host to many research groups which carry out heavy experiments and therefore depend on an elaborate and expensive research infrastructure. Several of the infrastructure units are used by various groups, often across departmental boarders. The largest units demand technical staff with special competence in handling the equipment. Several of these function as technological platforms and are also used by external research groups
