Physics of Geological Processes (PGP - CoE)
In 2003 a group of scientists from the Geosciences and Physics departments was awarded status as Centre of Excellence (CoE) by the Research Council of Norway, Physics of Geological Processes (CoE - PGP).
About the centre
Four researchers from our Tectonics, Petrology and Geochemistry section were included in the centre which is organised directly under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and awarded the status of Top Tier Research Group by the Faculty.
Most of the tenured positions contribute in our study programmes although PGP is not formally a part of the Department.
The centre is for a periode of 10 years from 2003 and will terminate in 2013.
