The Marine Geoscience Data System (MGDS) provides free public access to data collected throughout the global oceans. Our data portals serve different communities of NSF-funded researchers providing direct access to data, program-relevant information, and tools for helping them satisfy their data sharing obligations. Our tools and services provide access to our integrated data system, visualization and analysis tools, and education and outreach materials. The National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) (part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the US) provides scientific stewardship, products, and services for geophysical data from the Sun to the Earth and Earth's sea floor and solid earth environment, including Earth observations from space.
