Research area
My main research in recent years has been focused on numerical methods for interpolation and approximation, of both functional and parametric data. Such methods include data-fitting with polynomials, piecewise polynomials (splines), and rational functions, as well as the recursive construction of approximations through subdivision. A major area of my work has been the construction and analysis of suitable parameterizations when fitting parametric curves and surfaces to point data. I am a member of the CMA and editor of the journal CAGD.
