Academic Interests
As department manager I have focus on informatics in general, however my background is within scientific computing. Within this area I am partuculary interested in geometric modelling and representation of huge data sets for real-time visualization, real-time physics calculations and efficient data transfer .
Employment history (short resymé)
Since 2005 I have been department manager for the Department of Informatics at UiO. Earlier in my career I have had diector positions at SINTEF, the research Council of Norway and Simula Research Laboratory AS.
Appointments
As of today I am member of the international scientific advisory board on ICT at KTH in Sweden, chairman of the scientific advisory board for teh Swedish eScience Research Centre (SeRC), and chairman of the board of The iAd centre for research based innovation hostet by Microsoft Development Centre Norway.
