The Language Technology Group (LTG) at the University of Oslo offers a fully funded postdoctoral fellowship for a duration of 3 years.
The position is funded by the BIGMED project, which aims to develop a big data solution that integrates patients' health record information with genomics data. The BIGMED consortium consists of a multidisciplinary team of ICT researchers, biomedical researchers and industrial partners. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the language technology research conducted within the project, which has as its goal to enable information extraction from Norwegian electronic health records.
The position presupposes a PhD degree or equivalent in Natural Language Processing, or in Computer Science with a clearly NLP-based thesis. Background from biomedical or clinical NLP will be an advantage, although not a requirement. Basic understanding of Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language) is a requirement.
