Research interests

My research focuses on the introduction and organizing of emerging technologies such as data & AI with a view to their strategic and transformational impact. Taking a sociotechnical perspective, I am particularly interested in understanding how humans and algorithms can work together; how data challenge established ways of knowing and working; and how data and AI could be leveraged strategically. My doctoral research with Prof. Aanestad into how configurations of humans and algorithms evolve as firms adopt AI, won Best Paper 2020 awards with the Journal of Strategic Information Systems and the Association of Information Systems.

Teaching

Since 2010, I have designed and delivered courses on entrepreneurship and innovation across undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. I am currently teaching a master-level class on ideation and business design with the Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship program, preparing students for internships with startups in tech hubs such as San Francisco / Silicon Valley, Boston, and Toronto. I also contribute to continuing education on technology and innovation management and regularly guest lecture executive classes on topics such as strategic leadership. My teaching centers on transformational and creative approaches to problem-solving and strategy creation. My curricula and work on value proposition and business model design have been adapted by universities such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, UC Berkeley, MIT, and Stanford University.
