Network Simulator-2 (ns-2) is a de facto standard tool among academicians in network research. Although this tool is widely employed for research purposes, it is not yet supporting the rate adaptation (rate-fallback) mechanisms for wireless 802.11 PHY/MAC scenarios by default. The goal of this research is to identify, implement and test different rate-adaptation algorithms used in 802.11 wireless cards in ns-2. Having good skills in C++ programming is required.
