Mechanochemical interplay in intraluminal vesicle formation
About the project
In this project we will develop a new understanding of the mechanical and biophysical processes that determine the formation of membrane blebs (vesicles) inside a cell. This process entail a fascinating membrane dynamics, but of much greater importance is that this dynamics regulate the cell's ability for internal and external communication where irregularities in the process are linked to several diseases such as cancer. We are today missing a precise model that can explain this process, which we will develop trough mathematical modeling and numerical computations in close collaboration with experimental cell biologists.
