Material science and nano view on welding, cracking, and corrosion of the steels
Prof. dr. Faik Uzunovic from the University of Zenica has more than twenty years of experience as engineer/professor in the field of metallurgy and material science.
On Aug 23rd, Uzunovic visited SMN and held a presentation on this field:
- Steels for welding (carbon, HSLA, low-temperature, and cryogenic steels, metastable Fe – C diagram and heat treatment/TMT of the steels)
- Welding phases (liquid-solid, phase diagrams, solidification and solid solutions, heat affected zone – HAZ, heat or mechanical treatment after welding)
- Cracking phases (micro-macroscopic and the other types of cracks, crystal structure and imperfections, nature of elastic-plastic deformation)
- Corrosion phases (content of gases in liquid and solid phases of the steels, redox potential, pitting, sea/water/ environment and utilization factors, NATURALHY study findings)
