The dream of being able to build safe, self-driving, autonomous cars are about to become a reality. Companies like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo and Google have all shown sophisticated prototypes of cars being able to sense the environment and navigate through dynamic surroundings without human intervention. The use of autonomous cars, however, not only makes it possible for people to spend their time more efficiently as no drivers are needed, but in addition traffic administration itself could be optimized and the utilization of the available roads improved. In particular, the utilization of the roads in a city during rush hours could be greatly improved if a holistic approach to congestion control is taken to avoid traffic jams.

InfiniBand is a state-of-the-art high performance networking technology used in many of the worlds largest supercomputers, clouds and modern datacenters where high bandwidth and low latency is required. InfiniBand supports congestion control with a parameterised mechanism, but proper guidelines or policies for using congestion control in InfiniBand do not exists.

InfiniBand is a state-of-the-art high performance networking technology used in many of the worlds largest supercomputers, clouds and datacenters where high bandwidth and low latency is required. The InfiniBand specification only supports static routing, but there are proprietary extensions for adaptive routing that has the potential to improve the performance and reliability of InfiniBand networks.

InfiniBand is a state-of-the-art high performance networking technology used in many of the worlds largest super computers and in datacenters where high bandwidth and low latency is required. InfiniBand supports quality of service with a flexible traffic differentiation mechanism, but no good guidelines or policies for using QoS in InfiniBand exists.
