The Parrot project is aiming at privacy support for IoT applications using data stream processing systems. The idea is to extend queries with privacy protecting mechanisms in such a way that the privacy requirements of data providers are protected and the protected data is still useful for applications.
The digital transformation of the industry depends on rich information models in order to support
automation of specialized and knowledge intensive tasks.
Work in this research program is primarily performed in two
projects: the Reasonable Ontology Templates (OTTR) project and the Information Modelling Framework (IMF) project.
Successful data science requires a mixture of statistics, computer science and domain knowledge. In DataScience@UiO, we bridge the first of these gaps by bringing statisticians and computer scientists from the Factulty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences together, and the other by bringing in industry-heavy research centers such as BigInsight and SIRIUS. In this blog-post, I want to say something about why I believe SIRIUS has a very important role to play in the current and future data science engagement at the University of Oslo.
