Most users are aware that email and most other forms of message exchange on the Internet is insecure, and after the disclosure of NSA documents by whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2012, it became clear that mass surveillance on the Internet was not only a theoretical possibility, but that an ongoing activity.
The next frontier for innovation in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) is the creation of smart spaces such as smart cities, buildings , energy , and health. The main goal of the DILUTE project is to enable development of software services for such systems with particular support for scalability and dynamicity. Software services developed for such systems are distributed over a wide range of computing devices from resource-constrained IoT devices, to network routers (i.e., fog nodes) and the Cloud.
Extending CloudSim to enable support for multi-cloud simulations
Today, cloud based services are an integral part of our everyday lives. We use Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive to store files; Google Docs and Office 365 to write documents; Gmail, Yahoo mail and Outlook.com to write emails; and we develop and run our own web services and applications using Google App Engine, Amazon Web Services, Windows Azure Cloud Services – to mention just a few cloud services and cloud service providers. Traditionally, cloud applications are deployed on the infrastructure provided by a single cloud provider, imposing vendor lock-in, challenging application migration, and lack of flexibility. To meet these challenges, multi-clouds and intercloud infrastructures are fast becoming an emerging extension to the current cloud computing ecosystem. In a multi-cloud environment, applications are deployed in such a way that different parts of the application may span multiple public or private clouds simultaneously.
Design, developing and implementing information architectures, involving the technical and institutional linking of multiple systems, is a contemporary challenge facing both research and practice globally.

Would you be interested in studying large-scale, interconnected and complex information systems? Do you want to explore how it is made possible to fit together, scale-up, maintain and rejuvenate such assemblages of information systems (that we term information infrastructures) over time?
Would you be interested to study information architecture in different country contexts?
Then, you can get involved in studying the role of architecture for information infrastructures, and also involved in its design and development. Basically, the architecture of an information infrastructure is the way in which its elements are distributed, managed and interconnected. While architecture can be described in abstract models, their evolutionary dynamics and roles have been researched to a limited extent.
