The aim of the LIPCHEM group is to contribute to new knowledge on chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation lies at the core of many diseases with a major impact on individuals and society. Thus, dealing with chronic, unresolved inflammation is at the forefront of contemporary medicine, health, and medicinal chemistry frontier. LIPCHEM is a part of the Medicinal Chemistry Group.
With the goal of taking the best advantage of existing expertise and strengthen collaborations, 8 universities in the Øresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak region, including UiO, have teamed up with ESS and MAXIV, to create a regional network for neutron and synchrotron scattering.
The Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis (CEES) combines a broad spectrum of disciplines (such as population biology, statistical and mathematical modelling, and genomics) to foster the concept of ecology as a driving force of evolution via selective processes, with a corresponding influence of evolutionary changes on ecology.
We show that systemic injections of PHP.eB AAVs to express GECIs is a highly promising technique for imaging neural activity and circumvent the need for transgenic GECI expressing mouse lines. We also establish the use of novel soma-targeted GECIs that outperform current Ca2+ indicators using both systemic and local virus injections.
