I am an evolutionary ecologist and geneticist, currently studying cases of contemporary evolution from a genomic perspective, while also focusing on hybridization and speciation processes. One of my projects studies population divergence and local adaptation in the Italian sparrow, a hybrid species, both in response to climatic variation and species interactions. I am also interested in (epi)genome evolution during range shifts, both in response to climate change or assisted colonization processes, and I use the Reed warbler as a model organism to tackle these questions in the future.
