Marine Servane Brieuc
I am an evolutionary biologist and my main areas of expertise are population genomics, quantitative genetics and bioinformatics. I am originally from France where I received an engineering degree in Agronomic Sciences in 2007. I then moved to Seattle, WA, USA where I completed my PhD in 2013 at the University of Washington with Dr. Kerry Naish. During my PhD I worked on salmon evolution, genome rearrangement following whole genome duplication and adaptation, with a focus on Chinook salmon. In 2013 I started a postdoc at the University of Washington and the US Geological Survey, studying the genetic basis of Infectious Hematopoeitic Necrosis Virus in populations of Steelhead trout, using quantitative genetics approaches. On January 16, 2017 I started a postdoc at CEES Kjetill Jakobsen and Sissel Jentoft where I’ll be working on cod genomics.
