Nils Chr. Stenseth re-elected at Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters

This will be Stenseth's third two-year term as Vice President/President

CEES Chair Nils Chr. Stenseth was re-elected to the alternating position of Vice President/President of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters on the 6th December. The two year term involves one year as Vice President and a year a President. Having served in 2012 as President, he will move to the Vice President position for 2013. Prof. Kristi Strøm Bull of UiO's Faculty of Law will take over as President for 2013.  In 2014 Stenseth will return to the position as President of the Academy.

The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, founded in 1857, is a non-governmental, nationwide body which embraces all fields of learning. Its main purpose is to support the advancement of science and scholarship in Norway. Membership is based solely on the candidates' scientific achievements. The members are divided into two sections; Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences. The President and Vice-President work with the board of the Academy to decide major items related to The Academy's operation.
