A dynamic partnership between computer science and biology: how genome evolution led to the evolution of great software

Friday seminar by Julian Catchen

Our guest speaker this Friday is Julian Catchen, from the University of Oregon, Eugene. Catchen is the author of one of the most used software for the analysis of RAD sequencing data, Stacks.

This talk will focus on principles in software design that we have discovered through trial and error to facilitate the collaboration between computer scientists and biologists. There will be code, anecdotes and some of our latest data from the threespine stickleback.
