Abstract
This talk will discuss lessons learned from the EScAPE (Evaluation of Science Advice in a Pandemic Emergency) project – an international comparative study of science advisory mechanisms during the first year of the pandemic, sponsored by the US NSF. The pandemic has offered an opportunity to learn from and improve the role of organized expertise in decision making.
