Abstract

This talk will discuss lessons learned from the EScAPE (Evaluation of Science Advice in a Pandemic Emergency) project – an international comparative study of science advisory mechanisms during the first year of the pandemic, sponsored by the US NSF. The pandemic has offered an opportunity to learn from and improve the role of organized expertise in decision making.

Roger Pielke Jr. is a professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, and Visiting Researcher at Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis (CEES), University of Oslo.

Note

The seminar will start at 12.15 due to a thesis defense the same day.
