Information to postdoctoral research fellows
Postdoctoral research fellows employed by the Faculty who have been significantly and genuinely delayed in their research project due to the corona situation, can now apply for extended employment.
The MN faculty now invites postdoctoral research fellows who have been significantly and genuinely delayed due to the corona situation to apply for an extension. The reasons for the delay may be the closure 12 March to 27 April 2020 with severely limited access to the university's premises, restrictions afterwards (e.g. limited access to international laboratories), or if a particular burden of care has hindered research progression.
Applying for extended employment
Only postdoctoral research fellows employed by the Faculty can apply for extended employment. The applicant must describe / outline what has been delayed, the reason(s) for the delay, and the consequences the delay has had for the research project. Please also describe what you worked on during the closure (if applicable) and how you have adapted the project plan to the corona situation. When using the online form, a statement / assessment from the PI (externally funded applicants) or immediate superior must be uploaded confirming that the fellow is delayed and the number of weeks the fellow has been delayed.
Postdoctoral fellows who have already received an extension due to delays related to the corona situation, can only apply for a new extension if new circumstances have arisen which may give grounds for extension.
There is no application deadline. However, due to necessary case processing time, we kindly ask that you apply no later than one month before current end date.
All applications will be individually processed.
From 2022 onwards: please contact your main supervisor if you have been delayed due to the corona situation. Your application will be handled in accordance with regular routines at your department.”
