Submission of master’s thesis at the MN Faculty autumn 2020

  • The regular submission deadline applies to all MN Faculty students. Log on to your Studentweb profile to check which deadline applies for your thesis.
  • The University of Oslo has extended the self-notification scheme as approved documentation for absence from any exam until the 1st of February 2021. 
  • If you encounter problems with handing in your thesis due to illness or other valid reasons, you may hand in MN's application form for self-notification of master's thesis.

Oral presentation

The MN Faculty is planning for all graduate students to do an oral presentation after having submitted their master's thesis. Your department will provide further information regarding this.

Regulations that applied spring 2020

  • The regular submission deadline applies to all MN Faculty students. Log on to your Studentweb profile to check which deadline that applies for your thesis.
  • The University of Oslo has implemented self-notification as approved documentation for absence from any exam during the spring semester of 2020.
  • Prior to the 15th of April you could apply for a deferral to the 15th of June. This deadline has passed. However, if you encounter problems with handing in your thesis due to illness or other valid reasons, you may hand in MNs application form for self-notification of master's thesis.

This regulation applies until September 1.

  • If you are unable to submit your thesis on time due to the coronavirus, you may apply for a deferred deadline.
    • Note: This does not apply to graduate students at the Department of Pharmacy.
  • The MN Faculty will approve all applications for a deferred deadline.
  • The deferred submission deadline is June 15. This also applies to short master's thesis.
  • The deadline to apply for a deferred submission is April 15. If you do not apply for a deferral, the regular submission deadline still applies.
  • Note that if you choose a delayed submission deadline, it effects the time for your master consultation. You will receive more information from your department if you choose the delayed deadline.

Oral presentation

The MN Faculty is planning for all graduate students to do an oral presentation after having submitted their master thesis. Your student department will provide further information regarding this.

Note: Graduate students at the Department of Pharmacy are exempt from an oral presentation after completing their master's thesis Spring 2020.
