Academic Interests

Microbial dynamics and evolution. We are studying the sporeforming soilbacteria Bacillus cereus group (including also Bacillus anthracis and Bacillus thuringiensis) as a model system to gain knowledge about the adaptability, niche life and development. More than 80 genomes have been sequenced worldwide. Our studied include the analysis of multidrug efflux membrane proteins in these bacteria.
