Frequency-domain finite-difference modeling of controlled source electromagnetic Fields

Summary

The recently developed controlled source electromagnetic (CSEM) method becomes an important tool for hydrocarbon exploration. The technique has proven particularly useful for detecting thin, highly resistive layers typical correspond to hydrocarbon reservoirs. Three dimensional modeling plays a crucial role in survey design, inversion, and interpretation of CSEM data in complex geological settings. The project primarily focuses on developing an efficient forward modeling tool for CSEM using finite-difference methods.
