GEOHYD Lunch Seminar: Development of a Hyperspectral Remote Sensor for Saturated and Unsaturated Soil Measurements

Welcome to our GEOHYD Lunch Seminar Monday 25th May @ 12:15 in Aud 1, The Geology building. The seminar is helt by Sean Salazar.

Welcome to this seminar by Olli Karjalainen, PhD student, University of Arkansas, currently visiting NGI,

Abstract:

Saturated and unsaturated soil properties are critical to effective modelling of natural hazards, such as landslides and post-wildfire debris flows. To collect such soil properties remotely, a multimode, field-deployable LiDAR instrument has been developed for collecting topographic, hyperspectral measurements of soil properties.

This talk will describe the development of the instrument, preliminary laboratory test results, and future plans for testing outside of the laboratory environment.

About the seminar:

This seminar is offered by the Section for Geography and Hydrology at the Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo. The seminar is announced as a lunch seminar so bring your lunch if you want to.

Everyone is welcome, and especially students.
