I am a post-doc with the Geo-didactics or Geosciences Education(al) Research section, established in early 2022. Coming from a background in pedagogical development for physics, and working within iEarth, my work is closely tied to educational practice. My current research is related to the development of Students as Partners practices in the department, specifically through Course Representatives, and I am also interested in the teaching and learning of physics concepts within a geosciences context: saying that 'students don't understand the physics' (or maths or chemistry etc.), isn't very helpful for anyone.
In addition to my research work, I run the monthly Geo-didactics journal club that provides a dedicated space to discuss a paper related to educational issues. All are welcome.
