Prosjekt: Machine learning in geophysical processing and inversion

This research project is focused around investigation and implementation of deep learning-based interpolation, reconstruction and super-resolution methods to solve problems related to sparsely sampled seismic data. These learning-based techniques solves the problem as an underdetermined inverse problem where the forward problem is defined through a simple sampling- or masking operator. In this project we have investigated the use of combining traditional mathematical theory such as transform-based methods and different regularization strategies with the modern deep learning-based approaches in order to solve the reconstruction problem more efficiently and with improved results.
