This is the third of a seminar series for Geoscience master students given by the Department of Geosciences and the Science Library. The series run parallel with your master studies over the course of four semesters.

Geoscience Master Seminar 3

for 3rd semester master

The aims of the seminars are to i) develop your professional competences ii) support you in achieving your goals with your master studies iii) inspire and support you in carrying out your research and iv) to meet your peers.

The seminars will include hands-on practices, discussions, invited lecturers, social activities, help desks and more.

Subjects such as literature search, scientific writing and research data management – just to name a few – will be part of these seminars.

Time and place:

October 21 and/or 24, 2019 10:15-16:00
Zeb-building Aud 3 and Department of Chemistry Aud 4

The seminar is given twice, on the 21st and the 24th, to ensure that you can attend.

We divide the seminar day into two parts. You need to sign up for ONE morning session (with lunch) AND ONE afternoon session (with tea). You may, for example, attend the morning and lunch seminar on the 21st, and the afternoon and tea session on the 24th.

It is important that you sign up for the sessions you are attending since we need to order lunch/tea.

Please, if it’s possible, bring your laptop.

10:15 – 10:20: Welcome and introduction to the seminar

10.20 – 13.00 with breaks and lunch:

Invited lecturer – Henrik Svensen will give us a talk on How to write a Master thesis.

You have to write a Master thesis, but have trouble getting started. This lecture will help!


Afternoon session (with tea):
