Dear 4th semester master students!

You have to finish your Master thesis, and need a final push, inspiration or support? This session will help!

This is the fourth of a seminar series for Geoscience master students given by the Department of Geosciences and the Science Library. The series run parallel with your master studies over the course of four semesters.

Geoscience Master Seminar 4

for 4th semester master

The aims of the seminars are to i) develop your professional competences ii) support you in achieving your goals with your master studies iii) inspire and support you in carrying out your research and iv) to meet your peers.

The seminars will include hands-on practices, discussions, invited lecturers, social activities, help desks and more.

Subjects such as literature search, scientific writing and research data management – just to name a few – will be part of these seminars.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, unfortunately we won't be able to meet at the department or serve food and beverages. Please prep your own food and drinks for the Zoom session.

- Welcome

- Your final timetable

- The discussion -probably the most important part of your thesis.

- The ultimate checklist - for when you are about to deliver your Master thesis.

- What do the sensors look for in your Master thesis when deciding on a grade? by Prof. Terje Koren Berntsen

- EndNote & LaTex-BibLaTex final help session - with our experts Karoline Moe and Kyrre Traavik Låberg

- 12:00 - 13:30 Just write! -your Master thesis. We will use the 'shut up and write' concept, this time with a 15/30/15/30 set up, and work on your discussion or other parts of your thesis.

There will be breaks throughout the session.
