What’s stopping high-schoolers from learning quantum chemistry? Not much, it seems. Increased coding-literacy combined with availability of high-level programming languages and interactive visualization tools makes theoretical chemistry more accessible and relevant to younger audiences than ever before. During the UNGFORSK-event, The Hylleraas Centre for Quantum Molecular Sciences was visited by groups of high-schoolers for a workshop titled “A journey from the large to the small”, hosted by Audun, Hanan and Elise, where they ran interactive simulations of gases, fluids, and molecular systems all the way down to the quantum level.
