Use of educational facilities (KBH, Drøbak, Finse) and infrastructure (vessels and cars)

It is expected/required that:

  1. All students have completed the mandatory (electronic) infection prevention course.
  2. Compulsory laboratory/fieldwork exercises: 
    • Students will only have access to laboratories/fieldwork to complete compulsory exercises in ordinary subjects. All other teaching activities are digital. 
    • Teaching activities must adapt to keep distancing.
    • Teachers and students must wear face masks.  
    • Course responsibilities are responsible for the students when present at IBV, and should ensure that the students leave the premises after end of course.
  3. The lecturer/course coordinator should briefly summarize the guidelines for the relevant lecture room at the start of every lecture/day. Later in the semester, a short reminder is sufficient.
  4. Do not move chairs and desks in or between rooms. Comply with the limit on the maximum number of people allowed in the room.
  5. The study administration have access to updated lists over course participants and lecturers. This will allow for effective infection tracing if needed.
  6. Daily cleaning of surfaces will be undertaken in seminar rooms, ALC-rooms and auditoriums.
  7. If other Departments use the IBV premises, they must inform themselves and comply with the IBV guidelines.

Suspicion of infection

Oslo kommune’s corona phone (21 80 21 82) has been established to assist those who live in Oslo and suspect that they could be infected with the corona virus. They will give information regarding necessary follow-up.

SiO Helse has a test station at Fredrikkeplassen at Blindern. To make an appointment for testing, call 22 85 33 00. (Monday-Friday 08.15-11.00/12.30-14.30.)

All who are living in Oslo and experiences symptoms, should contact their General Practitioner (GP)/family doctor (fastlege) for testing and follow-up. Employees living outside of Oslo, should follow local procedures.

Tracing infection

We have to be prepared to handle coronavirus outbreaks. All students and staff must themselves contact the health-care services if they experience symptoms, wants to request testing and in the case of confirmed infection.

In addition, in case of confirmed infection among students and staff at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, employees should as soon as possibly notify the Faculty by calling the Faculty’s corona phone at 92 05 08 57. The Faculty’s corona phone will be open every working day 08:00-20:00.

  1. Entrance to the three auditoriums will be through the main door at Level U. Exit will be a at the bottom of the auditoriums at Level K.
  2. The students can not enter the auditorium until the previous group has exited. Therefore, it is important that the lectures end at the expected time and that the lecturers keep each lecture part at <45 minutes. Students from Auditorium 1 and 2 exit Level K via staircase/elevator A. Students from Auditorium 3 exit level K via staircase/elevator D. Please follow the floor markings.
  3. Hand disinfectant must be used when entering the Auditorium. There is one station with hand disinfectant pr. auditorium.
  4. Show caution and observe social distancing.
  5. It is important that the students fill up the seat rows when entering, and leave in the same order (that is, do not pass each other) to ensure that distancing is observed.
  6. The students must wipe their desk when they have reached their seat. Two stations with surface disinfectant and paper are available at the top of the stairs inside the auditoriums.
  7. The paper used for cleaning the desk and all other trash should be disposed of when leaving the auditorium at the end of the lecture.

  1. A documented risk assessment, conducted by the course coordinator, of all lab exercises must be conducted with special attention to infection prevention. The course is responsible to make available infection prevention equipment and facilitate for infection prevention.

  2. Students and staff meeting up at the Research Center have themselves responsibility for adhering to the infection protection measures during transport.
  3. Students and staff must observe the 1-meter distance rule.
  4. The course/field work coordinator is responsible for informing all participants on the infection prevention measures for the relevant course.
  5. Hand disinfectant must be used when entering the Research Center. Hand disinfectant will be available several places at the Research Center.
  6. Students must clean their working spaces before and after use. Use bottles with 70 % alcohol or similar.
  7. In the course room every person uses his/her own equipment and the same working space every time if possible. The students must clean their working space when finished. Touched surfaces on common equipment should be cleaned with 70 % alcohol after use. The students should, when possible, use their “own” equipment or share with one other person. Common equipment that has to be used should be cleaned after every user. Frequent washing of hands is encouraged.
  8. Use disposable gloves in the kitchen. All use of kitchen equipment, preparing of food and dining takes place group by group to maintain a 1-meter distance. Buffet is allowed. Wash cutlery and kitchenware in the dishwasher using high temperature. Dining should at any time take place in accordance with NIPH (FHI) requirements.
  9. In addition to regular cleaning, contact surfaces will be cleaned with surface disinfectant. Hand and surface disinfectant is available in all locker rooms and bathrooms.
  10. See table above for limitations on number of people allowed at the Research Station.
  11. If a person experiences symptomes of COVID-19, he or she will have to leave the Research Center as soon as possible wearing a mask. He or she must use private car or public transport for the return trip: Contact Vy for guidance.
  12. School classes follow the same guidelines as students.

Finse Alpine Research Center-closed

Locker rooms and bathrooms will be maintained as usual. Hand disinfectant and surface disinfectant is available in all locker rooms and bathrooms.
