New face: Simon Hasselø Kline

New Doctoral Research Fellow at Section for Aquatic Biology and Toxicology (AQUA). From Norway.

I am a new PhD student at AQUA hired on the Coastal Ecosystem Dynamics under anthropogenic pressures research project. My research will be focused on the lower trophic levels and microbial loop, with a focus on trying to gather new knowledge using morphologic, molecular and experimental tools.

I am fascinated by phytoplankton and the role they play in the marine food web and I look forward to further investigating the ecological roles the lower trophic levels play in the ocean!

I am additionally very passionate about science communication, and I strongly believe that science should be relevant, understandable and approachable for the general public, and I very much look forward to continue with science outreach as I now continue as a PhD candidate in Bente Edvardsen’s research group.
