Masters of science!

June was a busy month for our research group, with no less than 5 students graduating with a master's of science in the same week!

A huge congratulations to Nina, Helene, Malin, Emelie and Clare who have all successfully graduated now with a master's of science!

All five students delivered their master thesis on the 1st June, and were examined in the week beginning 10th June. The examination consisted of a half hour presentation of their research to the public, before questioning by one internal and one external examiner. The exam was followed by cake and champagne in the lunch room to celebrate!

Nina's master thesis was entitled: "Environmental contaminants in herring gull (Larus argentatus) and maternal transfer in two colonies in the Oslofjord"

Helene's master thesis was entitled: "Comparing contaminant occurrence and maternal transfer in Herring Gull and Common Eider in the urban inner Oslofjord, Norway"

Malin's master thesis was entitled: "Accumulation of the neonicotinoid insecticide clothianidin in bumblebees (Bombus terrestris)"

Emelie's master thesis was entitled: "Effects of seasonal riverine run-off on contaminant accumulation in Arctic littoral amphipods"

Clare's master thesis was entitled: "The effect of dietary preference on the levels of organohalogen contaminants and mercury in Norwegian killer whales (Orcinus orca)"

Congratulations!
