State of the art infrastructure from the 1970's

The plant laboratory facility had 16 climate controlled phytotron rooms when it opened in the 1970's, the same 16 rooms that we use today. The machinery running the facility has many of the same components as in the 1970s, however the control panel (picture 2) is long gone. When new, the light source was 108 fluorescent lamps. Now we use a .....

When opened the 16 climate controlled phytotron room could provide reseachers with: Controlled temperature: +5 - 35°C with an accuracy of 0.5°C, Relative humidity: 40-80% with a tolerance of 3% and Light intensity: 40 000 Lux. The technical specifications have remained the same until present day.
