EVOGENE Flash Seminar - New Faces

We welcome our new employees and look forward to hear about their previous scientific experiences and their coming PhD projects. Use this opportunity to get insight to the diversity of research we do here at the Section for Genetics and Evolutionary Biology (EVOGENE).

Nadeem Joudeh - Linke Group (Bacterial Cell Surface)

The aim of my Ph.D. project is to discover the enzymes involved in the reduction of Au(III) to Au(0) and Pd(II) to Pd(0) nanoparticles in E. coli in order to genetically engineer them later to optimize the end product characteristics (morphology, size, location, charge, catalytic properties etc.).

Thomas Trunk - Leo Group (Bacterial Cell Surface)

The aim of my project is the determination of the Type Vd secretion mechanism and its role in Pseudomonas aeruginosa virulence.

Eva Lena F. Estensmo - Oslo Mycology Group

I am a PhD candidate on the project IndoorMyco. The aims of this project are to improve the knowledge about the indoor mycobiome using HTS analyses and investigate the potential for commercial applications.

Arti Rai - Aalen Group (Plant Genetics)

Aim of my project is to answer the question - can modulation of peptide signalling in the root tip contribute to stress tolerance? Arabidopsis thaliana is an ideal model plant suited for this project, as this is the plant species with the most elaborated knowledge of root growth and development.

Chris Hadjineophytou - Koomey Group

My PhD project aims to understand the molecular processes underlying bacterial protein glycosylation using species from the genus Neisseria as a model system.
