There will be free shuttle buses between Gardemoen airport and Holmenkollen Rica Hotel on Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Friday 23rd May. All participants should have received an email sign-up form for the buses. Please sign up to reserve your space!

 

Flights

Oslo has three airports: Gardemoen, Moss Rygge and Torp Sandefjord.

To and from the airport

 

Gardemoen

Oslo’s main international airport, located 50km north of Oslo centre, with access by train, bus or taxi.

 

ELMI shuttle buses - There will be shuttle buses from Gardemoen on Monday evening 18:00 and 21:00, and Tuesday 11:00 and 14:00. Please reserve your place on the bus before Friday 16th May using the online sign up form sent out already. Please look out for the ELMI helpers in red T-shirts at the airport near the main arrivals information desk.

 

Train - airport express train Flytoget - use the orange machines at the airport train station. Travel time approximately 15-20 minutes. Costs 170 NOK (85 NOK for students) each way to Oslo Sentralstasjon. When you get to Oslo S, buy a metro ticket (30 NOK) from Oslo S (metro station Jernbanetorget) to Holmenkollen.

Train - local/regional trains from NSB. Use the red machines at the airport train station. Travel time approximately 20-25 minutes. Costs 90 NOK each way - this ticket is valid for both the train and the metro, so change at Oslo S to Jernbanetorget and take the metro to Holmenkollen. 

 

Bus - Flybussekspressen or Flybuss. 

 

Taxi - to get the cheapest taxi deal from Gardemoen airport to Holmenkollen Park Rica Hotel please go to the main information desk in the arrivals lounge at Gardemoen and ask them to get you the best price.

 

Moss Rygge

Oslo’s second largest airport, located 66km south-east of Oslo centre, with access by bus to Oslo Bus Terminus. Travel time approximately 1h.

Torp Sandefjord

Oslo’s third airport, 110km south-west of Oslo centre, with access by bus to Oslo Bus Terminus. Travel time approximately 1h 45min.

Trains

NSB intercity and airport services call at Oslo Sentralstasjon (Oslo S), from where you can transfer to the T-bane (Metro) service to get to Holmenkollen. You can buy a combined ticket from the airport to Holmenkollen. Note NSB tickets are not valid on the Gardemoen express train Flytoget.

Flytoget services call at Oslo S and Nationaltheatre, where you can transfer to the T-bane (Metro) service for Holmenkollen. You need a separate ticket for the Metro. Note Flytoget tickets are not valid on the NSB trains.

Bus

The Flybuss from Gardemoen , and Torp-ekspressen and Rygge-ekspressen buses all call at Oslo Bus Terminus, which is a 5-minute walk from Oslo Sentralstasjon/Jernbanetorget.

Local transport – Metro (T-bane)

The Holmenkollen Park Rica hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from the Holmenkollen Metro station, Oslo zone 1, on the line to Frognerseteren (line 1). The journey takes 25 minutes from Oslo Sentralstasjon (Oslo S). Metro trains run until midnight, see https://ruter.no/en/ for more information.
