Dear life scientist,
We are pleased to announce the 14th annual meeting of the European Light Microscopy Initiative (ELMI). This years event will take place in Oslo, Norway, 20th-23rd May 2014, a beautiful time up north when spring has just arrived with its long days.
The venue is the Holmenkollen Park Hotel, 350 meters above sea level next to the famous ski-jump overlooking the city and the fjord. We can accommodate up to 350 participants at the same location, giving a compact meeting with an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, providing ample space for the multitude of companies and workshops that are the hallmark of the ELMI meetings.
ELMI was first set up in 2001 in order to promote the quickly developing field of light microscopy as a fundamental research tool for the life sciences and to strengthen the channels of communication between researchers and industry. The annual ELMI meeting, which has been running for the last 12 years at various venues across Europe, has an excellent reputation within the microscopy community, making this meeting a key event in the calendar of hundreds of scientists and developers.
The strength of this meeting lies in the mixture of scientific lectures on state-of-the-art, high-end microscopy combined with “hands-on” workshops and exhibition of the latest technology, organized by the leading companies in the field. This year we will maintain the format and focus on leading edge developments and its implementation to life science.
We encourage participants to present their exciting work either during the poster session or as a selected oral presentation. This year we will launch a “speed poster session” which will be previewed in a plenary session on the first day to increase exposure and interest.
Besides the exciting program we can ensure a dynamic meeting with fellow scientists, developers and engineers. The “one location” format enables the combination of focused networking, relaxing in your room or appreciating the many amenities offered by the hotel.
Welcome to Oslo
