The University of Oslo provides a wide range of software for it's employees. At the department of informatics some of the software come installed on desktop and laptop computers while other programs are available for download. In the GI group we promote the free and open source reference management tool Zotero, which functions as a plug in for Mozilla Firefox. Within the group we promote sharing of references and literary discoveries. By organizing your literature with a reference manger you can more easily contribute to this end.
For organizing and managing qualitative data the GI group recommend Nvivo, which can be found on the list of software provided to all employees by the University of Oslo. The University also provides short introduction classes on qualitative research tools including Nvivo.
