ESSLLI student travel grants

Do you want to spend two inspiring summer weeks in Barcelona attending the European Summer School in Language, Logic, and Information? Apply for a student travel grant!

EDIT, Feb. 3. 2015: All the travel grants have now been claimed. However, we will still offer full coverage for students who get a paper/poster accepted for the student session.

This year, the annual European Summer School in Language, Logic, and Information (ESSLLI) is hosted in Barcelona, August 3-14, 2015. For more than 25 years, ESSLLI has been an important meeting place for students and researchers from language technology, logic, linguistics, and computer science, attracting more than 500 participants from all over the world. Running over two weeks, the summer school offers 42 courses at both introductory and advanced levels, see full program here.

To encourage participation, the Language Technology Group offers travel grants to students enrolled in our study program, Informatics: Language and Communication (or to students supervised by the group). To qualify you must either be a MSc student or a BSc student in your 4th semester or later, and we offer a maximum of 5 grants for 7500,- NOK each.

In addition to that we also offer full coverage of travel, accommodation, and registration fee for students presenting a (single-authored) paper or poster in the ESSLLI student session (submission deadline 25/3 2015). This is likely most relevant for MSc students who are well underway with their thesis project.

If you are interested in attending ESSLLI and want to apply for grant, please contact Erik Velldal before June 1, 2015. First-come, first-served!
