Charles Martin er en forsker i informatikk, maskin læring og elektronisk musikk. Han kobler perkusjon med elektroakustisk musikk og andre medier gjennom ny teknologi. I 2016 deltok Charles i prosjektet Engineering Prediction and Embodied Cognition (EPEC) ved Universitetet i Oslo, hvor han utvikler nye måter å forutsi musikalske intensjoner og fremføringer i smarttelefon applikasjoner.

Fra 2018 er Charles også forsker i RITMO Senter for tverrfaglig forskning på rytme, tid og bevegelse.
