Jeg interesserer meg for hva som skjer omkring digitale teknologier i samfunnet vårt. For eksempel: helsesektoren har blitt gradvis digitalisert gjennom de siste 20 år, og jeg har studert hvordan læring og utvikling av ny praksis foregår når IKT innføres i arbeid og organisasjoner, og hvordan IKT blir stadig mer sentral og omfattende. De empiriske studiene har fokusert på det systemiske aspektet ved IKT, dvs. jeg ser ikke på selvstendige, isolerte systemer, men på systemene som del av storskala, distribuerte og integrerte samlinger av informasjonssystemer, såkalte "informasjonsinfrastrukturer". Teoretisk arbeider jeg i skjæringsfeltet mellom IS (Information Systems), CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work), STS (Science and Technology Studies) og organisasjonsteori.

Bakgrunn

Jeg er utdannet som ingeniør (i medisinsk teknikk, 1992) og sivilingeniør (i tekniske realfag, 1994) fra Høgskolen i Stavanger. Fra 1996-1997 arbeidet jeg som avdelingsingeniør ved Medisinsk-Teknisk Avdeling, Rikshospitalet, Oslo, og i 1998 som senioringeniør iTelenor. Siden juni 1998, da heg startet som Ph.D student, har jeg vært ved IFI, UiO.
