Smart watch Apps for sleep monitoring
In the Cesar project, we investigate the use of consumer electronics for sleep monitoring to reduce the time it takes individuals with sleep apnea receive a clinical diagnosis and the proper treatment. So far we have investigated cheap sensors that can communicate with a smart phone for this use. In the thesis we aim to open up the scope and investigate how the sensors on smart watches like, FitBit Ionic or Iwatch, can be used.Potential tasks to be investigated in this thesis include:
- Investigate the available smart watches, their capabilities, and their programming environments.
- Analyse which tasks (data collection, data analysis, visualization) could be executed on the watch and which should performed on more powerful devices.
- Design, implementation and evaluation of corresponding apps.
