Sigurd Øien-Ødegaard

I am a researcher and senior lecturer in the Section for catalysis, where I mainly work with oxidic and zeotype materials as catalysts for methanol to hydrocarbons as part of the CO2 valorization chain, Zirconium based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and X-ray characterization methods. I find metal-organic frameworks interesting because of their diverse chemistry and high porosity. I am currently involved in COZMOS, an EU project aiming to provide breakthrough technology for the conversion of CO2 to fuels and chemical building blocks.
As of 2020, I am teaching KJM1101 - general chemistry.
