My research area is algebraic geometry. I am currently working and thinking about the geometry of a particular class of algebraic varieties, known as irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds. In particular, I am investigating their birational geometry and the existence and behavior of finite groups of automorphisms. Other interests lay on the general theory of moduli spaces of sheaves on projective algebraic varieties, the theory of cubic hypersurfaces and Fano varieties of K3-type.
I studied mathematics at Sapienza, University of Rome, where I got both a bachelor and a master degree. After that I moved to the University of Bath, where I got a PhD in pure mathematics specialising on algebraic geometry. My supervisor was Professor Gregory Sankaran.
- Postdoc at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Professor Giovanni Mongardi.
- Riemann Fellow at the Riemann Centre in Hanover, hosted by Professor Klaus Hulek.
