Approximation theory, numerical analysis, geometric modelling.
My main research in recent years has been on numerical methods for approximation of functions and data. Such methods include data-fitting with polynomials, piecewise polynomials (splines), and rational functions, and the use of recursive subdivision, parameterization, and GBC's. I have recently studied n-width problems and associated optimal spaces. I am on the editorial boards of CAGD and BIT Numerical mathematics.
